Reflection

There was a thick chill on the back porch that evening. Her body ached with the long journey, while she huddled under a hand made quilt of insecurity and guilt. The patchwork of the past keeping her warm. This was a safe place to be, away from the frosty night. She waited in fearful anticipation. Trembling, she pulled the blanket tighter, desperately trying to block out His love.
As the moon shivered across the earth, dancing and spinning along the leaves of the strong oaks and whispering willows there was as miracle breathing in the night air.
The scent of Jasmine kissed her face. She drank in the fragrance, and the hypnotic music of her Lover buzzed thick around her. It wouldn’t be long now. “My Beloved, don’t you now that your faults are beauty to me. I long for you. I love you. I need you. You are mine, and I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” Her heart skipped a beat at these words and a chill ran down her back as a hand caressed her cheek.
“Oh my Beloved, how beautiful you are? I have missed our time together. Come away with me, and we will unfold this journey together.” His gentle strong hands wiped away her tears, and He caressed both her cheeks with a kiss.
He gently scooped her up in His arms, and carried her to a beautiful pond. Leaving the blanket behind. He curled her up in His strong arms, and gently ran His fingers through her hair. She drowsily and peacefully gazed into His gentle comforting eyes, and leaning her cherry lips close to His ear whispered, “I love you.”
He turned her face to His, and smiled down at her, ever so gently kissing her lips. Tears were spilling from His face. He wrapped His arms more tightly around her. She sighed deeply as she saw the Reflection of her Lover’s nail scared hands.

This is communion with God!

About Me

My photo
I'm a Christian who loves Christ with all her heart. I love to laugh, I love to cry (sometimes), I love to feel deeply. I want the road bendy & the windows rolled down. I want all the wick & wax gone. I want to live with reckless abandon. I want to have deep, authentic intimacy with others. My hope and prayer is that I will effect & be effected. This journey is my own!
