Salvation

This poem has gone through some major revisions, for better or worse here it is...

The blinding darkness.
The chilling wind blows through my soul.
I search for light, but my eyes only behold darkness.
My heart burns with fear.
Tears blur my sight.
I try to walk, but my legs feel numb.
I AM LOST!

I grab at the dirt like a starved savage.
My fingers slip around a smooth surface.
I grasp and lift the object,
Take the dust from its intricate face.
My fingers feel its picture.
My thirsty soul speaks the word "CROSS".

My eyes are showered with sight.
My soul is enveloped in warmth.
My soul screams with joy.
The light dances across my face.

The narrow path turns and swirls before me.
My legs are strong and urged on.
My Father's nail scared hand takes mine.
He whispers His Grace over me.
Water for my thirsty soul.
I search no more.

About Me

My photo
I'm a Christian who loves Christ with all her heart. I love to laugh, I love to cry (sometimes), I love to feel deeply. I want the road bendy & the windows rolled down. I want all the wick & wax gone. I want to live with reckless abandon. I want to have deep, authentic intimacy with others. My hope and prayer is that I will effect & be effected. This journey is my own!
